Irwell Vale Weekday Wander

A gentle roam along NCN 6. We explore the quiet lane to Irwell Vale and then move off-road along the river to Stubbins. From Stubbins we encounter a short stretch of main road into Ramsbottom where we cross by the railway and head on a back road to Nuttall Park. Then we return along the same route. It's a total of seven miles with varied scenery. Parts of this path can be muddy. It is suitable for all bikes though skinny road tyres may struggle in places. Please note that the loos at Nuttall Park appear to be locked on weekdays. We can, of course, visit a cafe in Ramsbottom if the group wants a stop. Do bring a suitable inner tube for your bike!
