Hello ladies - update for you....
I went out to check the planned route this afternoon only to find big floods everywhere making it impossible to get to Hambledon on the planned route. it is also impossible to ride home coming the other way from Chidden as, not only is there a flood, the road home is closed yet again for sewage to be removed by tanker!. I will post a photo for you of the flood.

I will not be able to take you on the planned route, but I have tried an alternative which is a bit of a wiggle around Denmead and we will end up at Barnards for refreshments (I will let them know we're coming). The route is about the same distance at around 10.5-11 miles.

We will definitely be going for a ride and I hope that you will come decorated for Valentines Day (though it isn't compulsory). I will send the usual reminder message tomorrow.

Regards
Terri

Circular route through the beautiful Hampshire countryside Rudley, Newtown and Hambledon on quiet roads and lanes. We are only 2 miles from Waterlooville even though we come under Winchester District Council. Includes a refreshment stop at The Old Forge Tea Room (fab cakes!) towards the end of the ride. This is an undulating route with a few short hills, however, you will not be left on your own at the back, there will always be someone with you and you go up the hills any way you can, even if you need to walk. The views are worth the effort and it's always easier on the way down!

AS THIS IS VALENTINE'S DAY I THOUGH IT WOULD BE A NICE IDEA IF WE COULD DRESS OUR BIKES/US UP TO CELEBRATE - A SMALL PRIZE WILL BE AWARDED FOR THE BEST DRESSED BIKE/RIDER

Beautiful circular route in the Hampshire countryside. It is an undulating route but the hills are short and not too challenging. You can walk them if necessary

Lanes and quiet roads - the occasional B road

Stopping at the Old Forge Tea Shop in Hambledon

Please wear a helmet, bring/wear a jacket in case of a shower. Make sure that you have a spare inner tube which is the correct size for your wheels/tyres. Bring a drink and some cash/card for refreshments.

In this area it there are always some hills. The hills on this route are not too bad and you can walk them if necessary and you will never be left on your own at the back. There will always be someone there with you. We have all been newbies ourselves at some stage and always willing to help and encourage.
