We'll start in Whitehaven, follow the C2C disused railway line to Rowrah, climb to the infamous Fangs Brow, past Lowes Water. Then north over Mosser Fell to a cafe stop in Cockermouth.
The final leg will be on minor roads to Maryport via Great Broughton for the train back.
Keep an eye out for the ride conversation for this ride. This is where I'll post details about train times from Carlisle to Whitehaven and returning from Maryport. The 9.30 train from Carlisle has lots of bike space.
I may also change the direction of the ride depending on the wind direction - informed by the forecast the day before.
A linear ride between Whitehaven and Maryport using the train to complete the circuit.
Mainly on lightly-trafficked roads and cycleways. Mainly tarmac but short sections of gravel.
We'll stop in Cockermouth for refreshment but a snack would also be useful to have with you.
Bring a snack for lunch - and wind and waterproof layers - this is West Cumbrian fellside!
