Beginning with the challenging beauty of the Orme circuit, once completed, we will ride along the West Shore to Deganwy, and using cycle paths as much as feasible, we cross the estuary on the Thomas Telford suspension bridge and make our way to Conwy Morfa/The Beacons along the harbour and Bodlondeb woods (NR 5).

Turning here, we head back through Conwy town centre, and join the RSPB path alongside the estuary. Having then made our way through the Junction and onto Pablo Lane, we join the A547 at Mochdre. A short distance through Colwyn Bay on the main road, we cut down Marine Drive & join the cycle path that runs along the sea front.

Cycling alongside the sea now, we head through Rhos-on-Sea and Penrhyn Bay, where, after ascending the hill past the Little Orme, we descend back into Llandudno.

Hopping onto the Promenade for a short distance, we will then return to our starting point along North Shore

This ride is offered as part of the 'Meet The Champs' event held at Providero in Conwy. Whilst a predominantly urban route, my aim has been to keep us with a seaside view as much as possible. This is a fairly flat ride with the exception of the ascent of the Great Orme's Head & the hill that passes by the Little Orme. It has, I hope, the feel of a proper summer tour, touching base with our local seaside towns and beaches where so many bring their families every summer to enjoy. As such we will encounter tourists which may slow our ride at times. It's a steady paced ride with plenty of pauses to enjoy the views and should offer us lots of variety and interest.

It is a bit of a mixed bag in terms of road types. Mostly tarmaced, some of the route uses cycle paths, with quiet roads in the main. Busier roads will be encountered as is to be expected in an urban environment, particularly in Deganwy, through Conwy Town, and Colwyn Bay.

No formal refreshment stop is planned on the ride as we will be meeting at Providero for coffee before we begin. Casual stops as and when will be plentiful however, and there will be opportunities to purchase food and drink along the way for those that fancy it.

Helmets should be worn please. Money for refreshments as required, warm windproof tops (especially important for the Great Orme). Please bring a spare inner tube for your own bike.

We never leave anyone behind
