This ride is one of a series of rides jointly organised by Cycle with Jan and Breeze Network North East.
This series of rides visiting places where notable women from the region have lived and worked, as well as riding we will learn some interesting and important north east women's history who have each contributed to our lives today, some feminists, some not!

This ride starts from Alnmouth Train Station and will take us around 12 miles to catch up with Charlotte Marsh, who we met earlier in the season and we’re going to search for Lady Sybil Grey of Howick Hall. Unfortunately we won't go into Howick Hall, due to admission prices being a bit high for a short visit, however we hope to get a cuppa at either Longhoughton’s Running Fox or Lesbury Community Shop depending on business and timescales and riders aspirations! This is a beautiful scenic ride along the Northumberland Coast part of the National Cycle Network- NCN 1, mostly quiet roads with low level traffic.

This ride is intended for new, returning and existing women riders who would like to connect with likeminded riders! Helmets are advisable, as is clothing suitable for the weather. We also advise you to bring an inner tube, bike pump and tyre leavers, bottle of water and some snacks. Riders might like a sea paddle / dip too….!

A Notable woman ride to explore the origins and life of Charlotte Marsh

Many quiet roads with some off-road stretches

We will make one coffee stop en route and may go for a paddle if the weather obliges!

Helmets are always advisable as is clothing suitable for the weather, a spare inner tube and a bicycle pump. A bottle of water and snacks are also useful.

We especially welcome newbies!
