In Celebration of the “Lloyds Tour of Britain Women 2026"

We head out of Hay on Wye towards Bredwardine, where we cross an ancient bridge over the river Wye and continue on towards Almeley. From here we start our return route, passing the famous “Great Oak”, through the villages of Eardisley, Whitney on Wye, over the Toll bridge and through Clifford. Our route will end with a little flourish, crossing the official “Lloyds Tour of Britain Women 2026” Finish Line!

A beautiful, undulating route, starting and finishing in Hay on Wye, crossing the historic bridge at Bredwardine, continuing to secluded village of Almeley, then meandering our way back, passing the famous “Great Oak”, through the villages of Eardisley, Whitney on Wye and Clifford.

We use mainly quiet country lanes, with a few busier roads where unavoidable. Some of the lanes can be pot holed, gravely and muddy in places but with care we always find a good route around these sections. 

Plenty of opportunity to stop on route to catch your breath, have a drink and enjoy the views. We intend to stop for a well earned refreshment break when we return to Hay on Wye.

Please bring a well-maintained, robust bicycle, wear a helmet, gloves and appropriate clothing for the weather.  Remember to carry a drink, a spare tube, puncture repair kit, lock, lights, pump and bring some money for refreshments.
