Ice-cream Sunday!

We'll pedal up from Southwell to the fabulous Newfield Dairy Ice-cream Parlour & Cafe at Hockerton Heights, and enjoy an amazing home-made icre-cream in the cafe garden as we watch the pedigree herd of Holstein cows grazing in the field beyond. Why not ask the other half to bring the children to meet us there for an ice-cream and a play in the garden (there is some great play equipment!)? This is a relatively short ride (3.5 miles each way) but there is a hill near the start, so you'll need to be confident to ride uphill with your gears. The benefit is that it's pretty much downhill all the way home! Although we are riding on quiet country roads, this is nevertheless a road-ride all the way, so you'll need to be stable and confident on your bike as this route is not traffic-free. We’ll always ride at the pace of the slowest rider so no one is left behind. We really welcome newcomers to our rides.  It's a good idea to bring some water and you may also want to bring a snack if you think your energy levels may need topping up along the way.  Wearing a helmet is advisable, though not essential.
