Starting point

CA13 0SU

Parking area between the Grange Hotel and the lake. Meet near the telephone box.

We'll start along the road towards the lake, then turn towards Thackthwaite and Low Lorton. From there we'll head to Buttermere and the Ice Cream farm (hot drinks, cakes etc available if it's not ice cream weather). We should see the famous Rannerdale bluebells on the way. We'll return by a shorter route with the option of going through Lanthwaite Wood and the beautiful Holme Wood. This ride is a little hilly, although we'll avoid the big hills. We always ride at a pace suited to the group. Nobody is ever left behind. Remember to layer with clothes you are comfortable cycling in, a water proof jacket is advisable and we always recommend a well fitting helmet. Bring a drink and a snack with you plus some money for ice cream etc. It’s a good idea to bring a spare inner tube that fits your bike.
