Accrington Train Station

Starting from the Tesco car park in Accrington by the train station the route takes you on the Hyndburn Greenway and the Leeds Liverpool canal through Rishton, past the Whitebirk Retail Park to the outskirts of Blackburn before climbing up above Oswaldtwistle past the Brittania Inn on Haslingden Road. The home leg sees you pass the famous Holland Pies factory at Baxenden before rejoining the other end of the greenway for the descent back into Accrington.
We are going to do that very route but in reverse!
There is a great new cafe on the canal bank at Rishton with great simple and inexpensive food to watch the geese.
This route reversal makes the route more accessible to new riders as the climbing is not as intense.
The views of the Ribble valley and Ingleborough in Yorkshire are spectacular on a clear day from Haslingden old road.
Any questions email leader.
Look forward to joining you on this one.
