Join us and follow the Hogsmill River from Chessington to its mouth at the River Thames at Charter Quay in Kingston. Ride through the Hogsmill Local Nature Reserve where kingfishers may be seen. The beautiful Hogsmill inspired the pre-Raphaelite painter Millais in his haunting Ophelia (1852). Enjoy a relaxing drink at Charter Quay at one of the many cafes on the river before returning to Chessington. This ride really shows Kingston at its best! If you’re fairly confident on your bike and ready to broaden your cycling horizons, our Steady rides are ideal. At a comfortable pace, and possibly with some modest hills along the way, rides take place on mainly quiet roads with plenty of sights along the way. Rides are between 6 and 20 miles long, at a moderate pace of between 7 and 10 miles an hour.
