This ride starts at Condicote Henge. After crossing the B4077 we then head off to Guiting Power followed by a climb up to the ancient Salt Way which has spectacular views towards Cleeve hill. We cross the A436 and continue our journey along the Salt Way. We turn into Salperton Park (two cattle grids are at the edges of the park- best to walk over these) and cycle towards a beautiful house with sheep meandering around the park. We pass through the village before heading back to Guiting Power, where we can stop for refreshments. Then Bemborough hill and a short stretch on Buckle street before returning home.
All Saints, Salperton is nestled next to the Jacobean manor house at the centre of the park. It is a simple church but has an interesting wall painting of Father time.
Historic churches. Over the course of the year some rides will stop at some interesting churches in the locality. We will spend about 5 minutes depending on the interest of the group. There is usually a collection box inside if you would like to contribute.
This is a hilly ride with two hills categorised as a 4 by Strava so there is approximately 490 metre of climbing.
This is a challenging ride riding with wonderful views. Also we will cycle through quiet country park.
