Shackerstone Station, Shackerstone

If you’re fairly confident on your bike and ready to broaden your cycling horizons, our Steady rides are ideal. At a comfortable pace, and possibly with some modest hills along the way, rides take place on mainly quiet roads with plenty of sights along the way. Rides are between 6 and 20 miles long, at a moderate pace of between 7 and 10 miles an hour.

Grab your bike and join us at Shackerstone Station for a journey along the Battlefield Line to Shenton. We'll meet at 10.45 which will give us plenty of time to collect our tickets and board the steam train.

Cost of tickets are below:

Adult                     £6.30

Senior 65+           £4.50

Child (3-15)         £3.60

Plus a £1.00 charge per bike.

At Shenton we will collect our bikes from the gaurds van and begin a leisurly ride back to Shackerstone along quiet lanes, passing through some of Leicesershires little known villages. The route also passes along 'Gallows Lane' where in the past the hangman hung his noose
