Hilly Attack
An afternoon ride for women confident cycling on roads and comfortable with completing 20 miles in the saddle.
"Hilly Attack" ride is for improving ability to cycle up hills and develop the technique of using momentum to take "the sting" out of any hill.
So whether you usually drop into your easiest gear and take your time up a hill, or use a big gear and grind up the gradient, come along and learn the secret I use to help take the edge off a short sharp steep climb or set you up for a long ascent. (Off course what goes up must come down and the final descent is along Salters Lane) Please ensure as always your brakes are in good working order…!
We will set off from The Whitworth Centre towards the nine ladies on Stanton Moor - Birchover - Bonsall - Matlock and back to the start along the gated road.

At the end of the day the important thing is to enjoy the afternoon ride and feel a personal sense of achievement shared over a cafe stop at the end in the Whitworth Terraced Cafe.
The clocks will have gone back so bikes should have cycle lights as we will probably be ending ride at dusk. Please have spare inner tube, cycling helmet advisable, waterproof and water bottle with you.
So heres looking forward to a great afternoon with like mined women cyclists and the reward of a coffee and cake for afternoon tea :-D
