For this ride, we will meet at the Boleside car park by the River Tweed. We will head west along Boleside Road before heading onto the track at the Gillie's cottage. The route continues to the old A7 bridge, where we will carry our bikes down the wooden steps and over the low stile to access the riverside fisherman’s path. If you are using an e-bike, assistance will be available for any manual handling required. The path follows the river all the way to Yair Bridge. We will regroup before crossing the bridge at the green traffic lights, then turn left onto the A707 and ascend a steady climb to enter High Sunderland Estate at the North Lodge. (Please ensure we remain together as a group along this section, as the road can be busy with vehicles in both directions. Follow the leaders' instructions.) We will proceed through the tracks at High Sunderland to the old A7 closed road, heading east back towards Galashiels. From the old A7 bridge, we will retrace our route back to Boleside.
If you are bringing your own bike, please ensure it is in good working condition and suitable for the terrain. Additionally, bring a spare tube appropriate for your tyres, tyre levers, and a pump.
