Hertford to Datchworth Coffee Shop

25km route. Steady pace - no more that 20kmph or the speed of the slowest rider. We will head out from Hertford through Bengeo and onto Sacombe road. We will follow this route through Stonyhills an use the new cycleway to go under the A602. We will cycle through Sacombe and onto Dane End. We will turn left and climb up to Whempstead then follow the road back down to the A602 crossing point and take the cycle path into Watton-at-Stone. We will continue past the station towards Datchworth where we will stop for coffee and cake at Datchworth coffee shop.
After the break we will head back to Hertford via Bramfield - a really speedy section.

All roads are country lanes or quiet roads. The surface is good for all weather and suitable for all bikes including road bikes. The route has a couple of hills but nothing too challenging and no one will be left behind.

We will stop after 17km at Datchworth Coffee Shop which has bike parking and delicious coffee and cakes.

Please wear a helmet. If the weather is overcast, then a back light is advisable. Please bring equipment to fix a puncture or have someone to call to pick you up in case of a mechanical issue. Wear layers and bring a waterproof layer in case of rain. Bring some cash or card for the cafe stop
