Heels to Wheels

This ride is aimed at beginners or returning cyclists and is a very relaxed pootle around the Flash. The scheme is FREE and led by qualified women instructors on traffic free routes. This local project has been organised in partnership with Wigan Council's Inspiring Healthy Lifestyles and Breeze to encourage health and well-being as well as commuter cycling. Rides are organised as an after work activity and are based at Pennington Hall park, Leigh 6.15 -7.15pm on Thursday. Heels to Wheels is aimed to encourage females of all ages to take up cycling again - the free sessions cater for those who have not cycled for a while, and provide a relaxed, supportive atmosphere to help females regain confidence and improve their fitness levels. Participants are encouraged to bring their own roadworthy bicycle, but there are cycles to borrow on-site. Booking is strongly recommended as bikes are booked out very quickly.
