From The Leggers Inn we will start out along the Spen Greenway before crossing over to the Ringway at Heckmondwyke.
At the end of the Ringway we will cross Bradford Road and travel up to the Bronte House at Hightown and onto St Peter’s Church at Hartshead.
From St Peter’s we will pass The Gray Ox, Haig’s Farm Shop and then head to Battyford via Slipper Lane and Kitson Road.
From Battyford we will take the Mirfield Greenway and head back through Ravensthorpe to Dewsbury.
Please be aware that there are hills along the way however nobody will be left behind.

After leaving The Leggers Inn this ride travels along a combination of greenways and public roads. There are a few hills along the way so be prepared to be challenged on occasions. The hills are offset by the stunning views that are available once we hit Hartshead and Roberttown. PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS RIDE IS OPEN TO ADULTS, 18+ ONLY. At this distance the local Met Office forecast for 10:00 Sunday suggests temperatures around 10°C with white cloud. The winds will be gusting at around 22 mph. Please check the forecast for yourself on Sunday morning. Please be aware that this is not a guided ride and that each participant remains responsible for their own actions or omissions at all times.

We will travel along a combination of greenways and tarmac roads. We will encounter a reasonable amount of traffic on the tarmac sections so all riders need to be confident in those situations. Mountain bikes, hybrids and gravel bikes are most suited this ride.

With the exception of short stops to re-group, or to take in points of interest along the route, there are no scheduled breaks at this stage. We can call for coffee at the Starbucks at Saville Town on the way back to the Leggers Inn.

Helmets are mandatory on all Heavy Woollen Wheelers rides. Please bring a spare inner tube suitable for the tyres on the bike you are riding.
