Starting point

Greater Manchester
M25 2GT

Our route skirts several small north Manchester villages and passes two notable artworks, the Pump House sculpture by Mitzi Cunliffe and the Three Droplets by Mark Gellard. We start with a short circular ride around the central area of Heaton Park before heading to Simister where a reasonably well surfaced farm track and then stretches of quiet roads and cycle tracks through Birch take us to Pilsworth and via the Roch Valley Greenway to the Gigg area of Bury. After a short stretch of road we tackle the Whitefield cobbles and on to Unsworth. Following a little more off and on road we arrive back at our starting point in Heaton Park where for those who want, refreshments at the Hidden Gem tea room (other cafés are available) and an additional leisurely 4 mile exploration ride of what is said to be Europe's largest public park.
