A steady ride to the village of Hartley Wintney, riding along some beautiful country lanes, then stopping for a coffee break at St. John's Church cafe. We will go out over the New Mill Ford and the main track across Bramshill Forest, then down Plough Lane through Hazeley Bottom to Hartley Wintney. Our return journey will be undulating via West Green, passing Dipley Mill and then through Heckfield with one uphill and a short stretch on a busy road, before returning across Bramshill Forest.
The route is mainly on roads or country lanes, apart from going and coming across Bramshill Forest tracks. If the tracks look too muddy after the rain, we can stick to roads and return through Riseley and Arborfield instead. This would make the route a total of 27 miles, rather than 24.
We will stop at St. John's church cafe in Hartley Wintney, for tea/coffee and they serve lovely home made cakes (at reasonable prices!)
You must please wear a cycle helmet and dress appropriately for the colder weather (including layers, warm socks and gloves.) Please bring cash or card for payment at the cafe, a bottle of water and a bike lock if you have one. Please check your bike before coming out - especially tyres inflated correctly, both brakes working and oil on the chain. You should also carry a spare inner tube suitable for your wheel size.
We never leave anyone behind
