Harrow - Denham Country Park

This ride is for confident cyclists. It involves riding on both quiet and busier roads, off road trails and a canal towpath. Some paths have a rough surface and may be muddy or gravelly. The route is not suitable for road bikes with skinny tyres. There are a couple of significant hills.

We travel out through Pinner, Eastcote, Ruislip and Ickenham. We then take a trail across Uxbridge Golf Course to enter the Country Park. We have to pass through several gates and push our bikes over a canal bridge with steep ramps before following the canal towpath to the Clubhouse Cafe on the ARC Uxbridge campus.

The return leg starts with a climb to Uxbridge Common and continues to Swakeleys, Eastcote and North Harrow.

Speed 8-10mph. Climbing 620 ft.

Check your bike before the ride paying particular attention to the tyres and brakes. Bring a spare innertube and tools to fix a puncture.

The time for the ride is a best estimate by the Ride Leader. Sometimes this can be affected by factors such as the weather, mechanical issues, the queue at the cafe, etc. We have a policy of leaving no rider behind so, if anyone is struggling, we will adjust the speed and take rest stops if necessary.
