Join us for an away day ride from Harrogate to York, cycling through villages west of York, it is a one way ride returning by train. Its not a hilly ride, pretty flat. Info for trains etc below ride details
Leaving the car park we head out on the cycle path into Hornbeam Park, picking anyone up at the Premier Inn that has arrived by train
At the lights it's straight over onto Rayleigh road and onto The Stray, through town and onto Asda for a quick pit stop (powder room break) then its onto the Nidderdale Greenway, Beryl Burton Cycle Way down to Knaresborough, over the river turning right onto Waterside where we will have a brunch break at either Marigolds Cafe or The Black Mulberry
https://marigoldcafe.co.uk/https://www.theblackmulberry.com/brunch-lunchLeaving the cafe we head out right along Waterside then Abbey road, coming out on Wetherby road, we wiggle around before joining A59 crossing the roundabout onto York road, then its onto Goldsborough, back onto A59 for 0.3 mile, Flaxby, Coneythorpe, Arkendale, Marton Cum Grafton, Lower Dunsforth, Upper Dunsforth, Great Ouseburn, Aldwark Toll Bridge, Linton on Ouse, Newton on Ouse, Beningbrough Hall, skirt Shipton by Beningbrough, Overton, picking up the cycle path that runs alongside the river into York and on to the Minster where we will stop for coffee before returning to the train station
There is no cafe stop between Knaresborough and York, there is an option to stop at Linton Lock Inn if required. Bring snacks to munch along the way, its pretty flat so not much energy will be required
