Guided Rides at the Races – Herrington Country Park

Sunday 8th January British Cycling’s CXNE (cycle cross) round 8 is coming to Herrington Country Park and Guided Rides are going along to take in the atmosphere while exploring the country park.

Meet our Guided Ride leader (will be wearing a Green British Cycling Rider Leader jacket) in the open space next to the play park (through the squeeze gate next to the play park car park).

After a quick bike check our leader will take you on a guided ride around the park visiting several sculptures including The Miners Memorial Garden, John’s Rock, Site Lines, Greenheart Bridge, and the Element Seats. After the ride you will have the opportunity to watch the ending of the women’s race and prize giving.


This ride is part of the Let’s Ride Through Winter Campaign.
To be in for a chance to win some goodies and to receive a virtual “Winter Challenge” badge all you need to do is participate in any 4 rides on the Let’s Ride website, (Guided Rides, Breeze or Community Rides).


IMPORTANT STUFF….
The terrain in the park includes a variety of different terrains including roads, quiet roads, cycle paths, shared paths and Bridle paths Therefore, these rides are only suitable for Hybrids or Mountain bikes. E-bikes riders are very welcome to join us
• You should pay particular attention to your bike being in good working order before attending a ride so as to minimise risks and disruption to rides.

• Be organised and bring your own items e.g.
- Spare inner tube
- Tyre levers and pump
- Multi tool
- Lock
- Bike lights
- Gloves
- Drink
- Snacks
- Suitable clothing,
- Helmets are recommended, but not mandatory.
