About the route
Starting point
Car park to west of Pollok House Pollok Park Glasgow Lanarkshire G43 1AT
Pollok House, Pollok Park, Glasgow
This fantastic route is contained within Glasgow's Pollok Country Park. With great cycling surfaces and plenty of attractions, this a lovely route. Highlights of the route include the Maxwell Family Pollok House owned by the family since the mid-13th Century, the beautifully kept gardens contain an impressive collection of over 1,000 species of rhododendrons and the White Cart River, spanned by a bridge built in 1757. History and nature make this a fun, easy route. This route has been British Cycling assessed as an accessible route, meaning it is suitable for the majority of adaptive bikes. The route will have no or low levels of traffic, there will be plenty of space and will have a good surface throughout. Meet at South West Community cycles with your own bike or one can be provided to you. There are two cycle leaders on this regular ride and the ride can include cycle skills sessions which are of great benefit to you. Please leave 15 mins on either side for preperations and debriefings. Please note SWCC is the meeting point and not Pollok Park as per the map details.
