About the route
Starting point
The Cemetery Layby on Beacon Edge. CA11 7SE Parking is available on Beacon Edge or on the surrounding streets
An intermediate ride with some hills. We will ride on quiet roads passing through some lovely quiet villages. The ride will start from outside the Cemetery on Beacon Edge. We will ride to Stoneybeck Roundabout take the turning for Plumpton and then using the quiet country lanes cycle to Catterlen. From there we will pass through the villages of Laithes and Blencow before proceeding to Greystoke. From there we will cycle through Greystoke Ghyll to Newbiggin crossing the road to go past The Clickham Inn turning right to Laithes and then retracing our route from Catterlen back to Penrith.
Please dress appropriately for the weather and bring some money so we can stop for a coffee and cake if we wish to. It is advisable to wear a helmet.
