Green/Blue to The Manor House Open Garden at Ayot St.Lawrence

We are riding to visit the gardens at The Manor House in Ayot St.Lawrence which are open as part of the National Open Gardens Scheme. Apparently they are better than the gardens at Highgrove! Entrance costs £7.50 (card and cash accepted), there is secure bike parking and, most importantly, tea and cake available. We expect to spend at least an hour there. This is a 25 mile ride in total with the garden stop at 19 miles. This ride is suitable for the more confident Green rider who wants to go further but not necessarily faster. We aim to ride at an average speed of 9-10mph. There will be plenty of stops along the way.

We will be riding out towards Breachwood Green, Whitwell, Codicote, Ayot St.Lawrence then back to Harpenden. It's an undulating route with some hills along mostly country lanes and B roads. We will tackle the unavoidable hills at our own pace and you are welcome to walk if you need to. We will stop to regroup at the top making sure everyone is okay before moving on.

You must wear a helmet to ride with us. Also, please make sure your bike is in good working order & that you carrying spare inner tubes & pump; money/card for coffee/emergencies; water; emergency back up/taxi number to call in case of issues.
