Green Evening Lanes Around Harpenden

We will start at the Red Cow before heading through country lanes. There will be a few undulations (unavoidable in this area) however we will take them at our own pace and regroup at the top. We will loop round and finish back where we started.

As the days are getting longer we are able to cycle in the evenings and are reintroducing ‘evening lanes’. We will ride for approximately 12 miles at a steady pace which is comfortable for everyone in the group. For the first couple of weeks we will need to start at 6pm, but will start later when the evenings get lighter. It is a good opportunity to get back on your bike after winter, or if you have not been on a Breeze ride before, this ride would be a good way to start. We never leave anyone behind!

We will be riding primarily along country lanes with a short section on the paved Swan Walk shared cycle path.

We will always stop at the top of hills to regroup and will make a slightly longer stop half way round to allow you to have a drink and snack.

Please remember your helmet - you will not be able to join the ride without. It’s for your own safety. Bring a drink and snack for our short stop. Whilst we will aim to get back before dark - please bring bike lights (just in case something happens and we get delayed). Please bring a spare inner tube just in case. Given the recent showers I suggest bringing appropriate rain gear. Also it can get a bit chilly so make sure you layer up. Please check for messages on the day of the ride - just in case we need to change things due to the weather.
