Want to get back in to cycling but not sure where to start and don't fancy a long ride? This could be the ride for you!
Having cycled with a friend recently who hadn't been on their bike for some time, to build confidence on the road and also to gradually build up fitness, we found this route was just the ticket... it was short but a good base to build on.
I'm keen to get more women back in to cycling and happy to do that more on a 2-1 basis for those that feel they would benefit from a smaller group size, this to ensure participants safety at all times.

We will meet in the Fire Station car park, where we will then walk our bikes through to the housing estate behind. Once mounted, we'll cycle through the housing estate, this will give you chance to familiarise yourself with the bike and ease in to the ride before joining the roads. Once we arrive at the bottom of St.Oswalds Close, we'll follow the road around Springfield to the Old Malpas road, a short distance from here we will take the back road, a quieter B road towards Oldcastle, this road does narrow in places but is a good route to get started. It's an all road route which will take us all the way to Oldcastle Heath turning, where we will take a right and head back towards Malpas via Sunnyside, another quiet B road coming out on to Wrexham Road that will be our route back into Malpas. There are a couple of gradual inclines along this route but nothing too steep.

I'd ask that you have a well maintained bike, well fitted helmet and lights or reflective clothing to keep us visible at all times.

Any questions don't hesitate to get in touch.

An easygoing ride out of the fairly quiet village of Malpas following the back road down to Old Castle, via Sunnyside where we may see some local llamas then back into Malpas via Wrexham Road.

We'll be riding on mainly quiet country lanes, with a few gentle inclines from roads in and out of Malpas village. We will take it steady and will never leave anyone behind. This is a great little ride for those wanting to build confidence on the bike back up or those returning to cycling after a long break.

With this being a very short ride to get you back in the saddle, there will be no stops during the ride, however we can stop for a drink and/or ice cream afterwards.

Please bring along a helmet, a spare inner tube for your bike (incase of a puncture), money for refreshments and clothing appropriate for the weather.

We especially welcome newbies!
