Gosport Clarion's Hambledon Loop

Quiet lanes, fields, farms and villages shops are a plenty in the South Downs to the North of Portsmouth guarded by Portsdown hill. This must be climbed to reach these quiet, green lands. Leaving Cosham this ride follows National Cycle Route 22/222 climbing Portsdown Hill to Widley before riding the Country Lanes through Denmead, Hambledon, World's End and Southwick. Portsdown Hill is climbed a second time to Nelson's Monument before descending down into Portchester and the return to Cosham.
