Another mid week ride for us to get out and about. Another jaunt down into the classy Ribble Valley. Today takes us down through Whalley and onto Sawley via the old A59 quiet lane. The Cistercian Abbey was founded in 1148 and had a colourful 400 year history before it's dissolution in 1536. The ruins are set against a dramatic Pendle backdrop. From here we return via Grindleton, Waddngton and Mitton to our coffee stop at Whalley Abbey. Please note, should the weather be nasty on the day there's an opportunity to cut this shorter but will decide on the day. So hope you're free for this classy little leg spinner down into the Cyclists Haven more often referred to as The Ribble Valley.
