This is a 23 mile route with 550' of elevation (so not too hilly). We will start at Dalkeith High School / Community Campus heading out on the shared path to Whitecraigs and then down to Musselburgh, along shared paths with intermittent roads to Longniddry with a coffee stop and then back by Wallyford to Dalkeith.
Lots of photo opportunities and we will following part of the John Muir Way.

Route rating

A round loop to the sea and back taking in Whitecraigs, Musselburgh, Prestonpans, Cockenzie & Port Seton, Longniddry and Wallyford and Dalkeith.

A mixture of road, shared paths and gravel.

Planning stop for coffee at the Jolie.

Bike in good working order, a helmet, spare inner-tube / puncture repair kit or a means of getting home in the event of a puncture / mechanical, a bike lock if you have one, but don’t worry I have a small spare one, card or cash payment if you want to buy anything at our café stop. And of course a water bottle or two, some snacks, water proof in case it rains and sun screen for this time of year - - we can always hope!

We never leave anyone behind
