Starting point

Perthshire
KY13 8FP

A circular route from the campus, along Burleigh Road, then joining the old railway line to Arlary, our furthest point. We will turn towards Milnathort taking the old, and quieter Perth Road to enter the village passing some of the oldest buildings in Milnathort. From there we head back to the campus using the cycle path at Auld Mart. This route is very flat.

This is a gentle introduction to cycling with Kinross-shire Breeze. The route is circular on a mix of roads and paved paths. A ride along the old railway towards Arlary passing pretty open fields with views of Burleigh Castle and Loch Leven.

The roads are all paved with a short gravel section which is pretty hard packed. We will quickly leave Kinross behind into open countryside then loop back to Milnathort along the old road through the village and back to the campus

No stops planned other than for riders to eat or drink as needed.

Participants should wear a helmet (strongly recommended) and wear layers as the evenings can be cool. Bikes should be in good working order with tyres pumped up. Riders should have a spare inner tube to fit their tyre, working (fully charged) bike lights front and back. Colourful and bright clothing is helpful. A rain jacket is useful if showers are forecast. Drinks and snacks as needed. We will be departing sharp at 5:30pm following some ride instructions and a bike check.

We never leave anyone behind
