Get Cycling for 50 Plus

Turning left out of Ashwood Nurseries and crossing over Ashwood Marina on a narrow road with priority to one-way traffic.  At the next junction turn left and pass the Navigation Inn and go over a humped-back canal bridge.  Ignore the right turn and bear left and immediately right uphill.  Quite a long 'drag' but with a pleasant descent the other side. At the next junction turn left on to a slightly busier lane, which is also undulating.  Ignore right turns but turn left at Great Checkhill Lane - this lane runs alongside the 'Million' - so called as a million trees were planted here.  This is a quiet, windy lane with some undulations and, depending on the time of year, a lively heronry can be heard and seen, albeit from a distance.  The lane passes a couple of farms and then the lane narrows through an archway of trees to a junction.  Turn left and immediately right along a very narrow lane that crosses the canal over Gothersely Bridge and then meets Lower Ashwood Lane.  Turn left and return to Ashwood Nurseries. Distance is approximately 6 miles There will be a donation of £1.00 per rider for the charity of Age UK Dudley.
