This is the first in a series of four rides which gradually increase in distance to build up confidence about riding a bike. Join us for all four rides or pick and choose the one(s) which are best for you. Our pace will be slow and steady to allow everyone to get to know each other and gain confidence cycling within a group. We’ll always ride at the pace of the slowest rider, so no-one is left behind, and can always rest when we need to.

This is a gentle ride, ideal for anyone thinking of joining their first Breeze ride or a refresher ride if you are returning to cycling. The ride is limited to 4.

Starting outside the main entrance of River Park Leisure Centre we will start with a loop around the park on traffic free shared paths practicing our gear changes, as well as stopping and starting. We will then ride for a short distance on quiet residential roads to build up confidence and feel comfortable riding in a group. We can discuss any worries or concerns you might have at the start and will do our best to make sure this is a positive and enjoyable outing.
The aim is to enjoy riding in a group with a view to join our social rides in the future.

Please check your bike is in good working order and conduct a pre-ride safety check on your bike https://www.sustrans.org.uk/our-blog/get-active/mcheck/
Please also bring:
- Inner tube/ pump/ tyre levers for puncture repair (don't worry about getting a puncture, we can help)
- A drink
- Layers to suit the weather (no special gear is required just safe shoes/trainers)
- Mobile phone

There is an option to stop at South Downs Social towards the end of the ride. Please bring a lock
for your bike and money for coffee and cake if you would like to stop for a chat.

There is no charge for car parking at Hillier Way car park for the first three hours; a short walk from the start or pay parking is available outside the disused leisure centre.

Please feel free to message me if you have any questions.

We especially welcome newcomers!
