Geared Up For Cancer is a partnership between NHS Lincolnshire and Ride Leaders from British Cycling. The aim of these sessions is to support people living with or recovering from cancer through cycling. The group offers a low impact cycle ride to begin to build up your fitness with an opportunity to meet & cycle alongside other people with shared experiences.

By courtesy of the National Trust and Woodland Trust we have been granted permission to lead you on this very special route that is usually only accessible to paying visitors. Your qualified British Cycling Ride Leaders will meet you in Wyndham Park and guide you at a safe and leisurely pace through Queen Elizabeth Park, through Sunningdale and onto the new cycle/footpath up to Londonthorpe Woods. After a short break to introduce this beautiful woodland amenity, we will make our way along 5 Gates Lane and on to the Belton Estate. We will be granted special entry to the estate where we will stop for refreshments, and be treated to a short talk about the estate. Once rested, we will continue through the private parkland until we reach the Lion Gate. It is here that we join Belton Lane for a short stretch of road riding until we reach the shared path back to Wyndham park. If you still have space, you can have a coffee with new found friends in the park café.

Your leaders are fully trained and qualified through British Cycling, and above all friendly. They will take all reasonable steps to ensure your, and the public's, safety especially on road sections and we never leave anyone behind.

Some of the route is on slightly bumpy gravel so thin road tyres are not ideal.

Now to the cost of all this. The great news is that it is totally free of charge, apart from refreshments, which are optional. We do ask any National Trust members to have their membership cards scanned in the gift shop at Belton as this really helps the property continue its conservation work.

Children over 8 years of age are welcome as long as they can make the 7 mile distance and are accompanied by a responsible adult. All riders must be registered on Let’s Ride and wear a suitable cycling helmet and we recommend summer sun protection, even if it’s a cloudy day. Children in carriers are welcome and do not need to be registered separately

IMPORTANT NOTE: We have special permission to ride through the Belton Estate on this ride only. This route must not be used at any other time as it could jeopardise future rides. The route map is for illustration only as it is not fully accurate.
