Staiths Road Car Park, Dunston, Gateshead just off the A1114

This is a short easy ride looking out for Kittiwakes and other wildlife. We will travel along the Riverside to the north east's most unusual nature reserve - the Kittiwake Tower at Saltmeadows. From here we will return via the BALTIC where we will go inside the building to the fourth floor and get close to the birds nesting on the ledge, Returning to Dunston we will have a cuppa and snack at the brilliant Staiths Café. From here we will take a loop of waggonways through the 1990 Garden Festival site before returning to the start of the ride at Dunston Staiths. Please ensure your bike is in working order and that you can carry out an emergency stop if required! Please bring spare inner tubes and dress for the British Weather. If possible bring a bike lock. The wearing of cycle helmets is strongly encouraged in adults and compulsory for 16 year olds and younger.
