TD1 1BJ
This is a moderate 7.2 mile tarmac route, following an on-road section through Galashiels town centre before rounding Gala Hill. Route follows quiet road to the Old Tweed Bridge where the River Tweed and Ettrick Water meet at the old Tweed Bridge. Returning alongside the Tweed and Gala Water. Free bike hire is available thanks to funding support from Scottish Borders Council's Community Cycling Fund
The short section through Galashiels town centre can be busy with traffic. Once on to Elm Row and the quiet country road around Gala Hill, the traffic is less frequent. The return section from Boleside is on a quiet country road and shared path.
We can stop at any point along the road as required! Good places to stop along the way are at the old Tweed Bridge and along Boleside at Galafoot.
All riders are advised to wear a helmet and to be prepared for all weathers given the weather we are experiencing! Please bring a spare inner tube and mini pump for your bike. You may also want to bring water or juice for the ride. End of ride refreshments back in Galashiels!
First-timers welcome!
