DG8 0EP

Leaving Newton Dtewart and riding up the old Edinburgh Road, known locally as Risk Road to join the A712 for a short time. Leaving the A712 to follow a single track lane down to Kirroughtree where we’ll pick up the old railway line to Creetown.
Cafe stop at Gem Rock Museum after which we’ll return to Kirroughtree and take the back road to Blackcraig and Minnigaff

The route includes sections of main road, single track country lanes and cycle path, with a few small hills and one long, steep incline (on which a few of us may well have to get off and walk!) so don’t let this put you off!
Plenty of stops along the way to admire the views, take photos, catch our breath and have a drink and a blether

Cycle helmets and roadworthy bikes are mandatory on all Breeze rides. Please bring with you spare inner tube/puncture repair kit, tyre inflator and tool kit. Front and rear lights, plus waterproof jacket, are advisable in case the weather changes.

Mixture of main roads and quiet country roads, some single track

Weekend rides usually include a cafe stop, either in the middle of or at the end of the ride. There’s no pressure to ‘keep up’. We stay together as a group, riding at the pace of the slowest rider.

A drink and a snack

We never leave anyone behind
