Fancy a ride with friends?
Want to find some new routes?
Or just get your cycling mojo back?
Why not come and join us on our Summer of Cycling Friday rides to celebrate the start of the weekend. Once a fortnight over the spring and summer we are aiming to do a steady/social road ride out into in the Hampshire and surrounding countryside. These will be around 30 - 35 miles and include a cafe stop midway where we can refuel on coffee and cake.
This week we are going to The Coffee Shop at Sherfield on Loddon
Our 32 mile route to Sherfield on Loddon will take us from Winchfield and out into the Hampshire Lanes via Odiham, Andwell and Old Basing. Using mainly quiet lanes the route is undulating, with a few ups and downs, although nothing too steep to climb or descend.
Our café stop comes after 20 miles and we return back to Winchfield via Stratfield Saye and Dipley.
The Coffee Shop serves hot and cold drinks as well as a range of homemade cakes, sandwiches and delicious breakfasts.
The wearing of a helmet is mandatory for this ride.
Please NOTE: Please do not come if you are feeling unwell or have been asked to self isolate by NHS test and trace.
Please bring with you
• Mask, disposable gloves and hand sanitiser.
• Lights for your bike - in case it's dull
• A drink and snack if you think you need one
• Suitable clothing for the weather.
• Money / credit card for cafe stop.
• A spare inner tube, tyre levers and pump just in case of a puncture. (We can advise but not physically assist).
We will meet outside Barley Mow Pub at 9.45 so we are ready to set off promptly at 10.00. We are aiming to be back by 13.30.
2 hours 45 cycling,
3 hours 30 total time
Please contact the ride leader if you would like to know more or are worried about anything.
PLEASE DO REMEMBER to cancel your place with as much notice as possible if you are unable to attend as places are limited.
