Frickley country park

A fantastic circular route around the magnificent villages and bridleways and spendid country parks.

We leave and head around the city via emfield park and over st Mary’s bridge heading up the greenway to link up with the Tpt to tollbar we then go over to adwick le street , we after encounter a little bit of a busy road until we get up to carcroft. We head into the spectacular woodland area of owston woods up towards burghwallis. We ride on some lovely country roads up into campsall we head to out first cafe stop at the lovely tea rooms in the village of Norton Dainty Doris tea rooms. We go back down the high street and circle around and out of this beautiful village we go on some lovely country lanes quiet lanes until we join a lovely bridleway then onto a country lane towards Kirk smeaton . We loop around towards the spendid village of Wentbridge in West Yorkshire crossing the motorway. We have the opportunity to view the church and the lovely village which is a beautiful setting in a glorious valley . We head out of Wentbridge toward Thorpe Audlin we branch of at the side of Rogerthorpe manor on this beautiful bridleways takes us up to Upton . We head into the country park which is a fantastic scenic spot, we then cycle a old railway line over the main Wakefield road onto the distribution strorage buildings in south Elmsall. We go through the estate over a railway line into the country park the old pit top of frickley colliery. Following the trails through this magnificent park passing the two shafts on route we will stop for pictures along this area . We then circle out of the country park on a country road leading us to the road which is a climb up into the spectacular village of hooten pagnell .we follow the country lanes out of this village towards brodsworth we head into the brodsworth pit country park then head towards the Roman ridge bridleway back towards the city via scawsby we past the minster in the city then back to tenpin passing thru the town fields.

Bridleways , quite country lanes a few busy roads , gravel and dirt tracks in country parks . Farm tracks and grassed areas in places .

Our main stop will be at the cafe in Norton dainty Dorris. Optional to stop at another cafe if required on the ride . Stopping for pictures and site seeing at Wentbridge and of course the magnificent area at frickley country park .

Helmets are advisable . Bring fluids and food snacks for the ride . Tools and spare inner tubes and bike tyre pump . Suitable clothing
