Starting from - We meet at the free car park just past Gargrave Station on Church Street. If approaching from Gargarve it is just over the railway bridge. There are no facilities. Unfortunately, there is a footbridge with 30 steps to climb when coming from the Shipley direction. Returning towards Shipley after the ride, has step-free access. Anyone coming by train may wish to stop at Skipton and cycle on the canal to Gargrave.

This 27 mile route has 1500ft of climbs but more of an undulating nature.
We will mainly be on quiet Dales roads with minimal main road exposure.
There is a section as we approach East Marton which is on uneven surfaces but this
cuts out a long section of the busy A59 and I rode without needing to dismount.
We leave Gargrave Station in an anti-clockwise direction and pass through the village towards Eshton and just before Airton we head towards Hellifield via Otterburn. After a short section on
A65 we branch off towards Wigglesworth and then turn back to go through Halton West and Nappa
before dropping down to East Marton and a very short section on A59 before getting to East Marton and our lunch stop after 22 miles. It is then a short ride where we then follow the quiet and basically traffic free road to Bank Newton and then to Gargrave.

Helmets are a must as is some hi-vis outerwear. Make sure you have a spare inner tube at least and that your brakes, tyres etc are in good condition. Check that the British Cycling website has up to date personal and emergency contact details.
