Starting point

Stirlingshire

We will meet at Bo'ness carpark and go along the John Muir Way to Blackness, through the grounds of Hopetoun house and under the Queensferry crossing and Forth Bridge to a cafe stop near the Forth Railway Bridge at South Queensferry. There will be plenty of time to stop and admire the views and take photos along the way. The return route will take us a short climb out of Queensferry with great views of the three bridges across the Forth and back via Philipstoun along quiet country lanes, with one short stretch along the main road, before going past the House of the Binns and back to Blackness and Bo'ness.
The route has been classified as challenging because of the length of the ride, the short distance on the main road and a few hills, that are steady climbs, rather than steep.
The length of the ride includes time to stop and have a look at Blackness castle, Hopetoun House and the views along the way.
Please wear a helmet and bring a spare tube, or puncture repair kit. Please bring water and a snack for the ride and cash for an ice cream or coffee and cake at Queensferry, if you want to treat yourself. There are also plenty of outdoor seating options in Queensferry if you want to bring your own snacks and drinks.
