This ride takes us from Mawdesley down to Burscough via Bispham Green and Ring O’ Bells. We then pass through Clieves Hills and Altcar, then on through Hightown and down to Crosby. We then head north up to Formby via Hightown for our lunch stop at Cafe 48. (34.1 miles)
Anybody not wanting to do the full distance will have the option to use Hightown Train Station (30.5 miles) to return to Burscough Bridge via Southport. Service is half-hourly and the journey takes about 45 minutes.
After Lunch there is another option for those riders not wanting to do the full distance. This time it’s Formby Station which we ride past after leaving the cafe. This will take you to Burscough Bridge via Southport. Service is half-hourly and the journey takes about 40 minutes.
Our journey back to Mawdesley sees us pass through Halsall, Haskayne and Rufford.
