Bike Park Leicester
8,000 torchbearers carried the Olympic flame to London 2012. The flame arrived in Leicester on 2nd July leaving the following day. This route follows part of the flame's journey via Abbey Park, then past the Space Centre and on to Leicester North Station where the flame boarded a Great Central Train to Quorn, you then follow the line to Birstall, why not stop for a refreshment stop at Ellis's Tea Room on Rothley Station where the flame passed on its journey to Quorn. The return journey will take you via quiet roads to Rothley and then back to the Bike park via part of Watermead Park and Abbey Park.
