Join us for a challenging ride to Wetherby, Spofforth and Harrogate having lunch at the fantastic Fodder Farm Shop at the Yorkshire Showground, bring your own picnic to sit outside with, pop in to the newly refurbished restaurant or take out from Fodder on the Hoof, the converted 1960s airstream in the car park.

Leaving the garage we head out on Harrogate Road, turning right and head through Castley, turning right onto Wescoe Hill Lane through Weeton and Dunkeswick, we have a short section on the A61 before turning right onto Swindon Lane for a slow climb up to Kirkby Overblow then onto Clapgate and Sicklinghall where we will stop and have a 5 minute break, check out the scenery, red kites and re-hyrdate.

From here it's onto Wetherby, we head up North street then Deighton road passing Kirk Deighton, North Deighton and Little Ribston, turning left onto Spofforth lane, Ribston road, at the T junction we turn left here we join the main road for a short section to the mini roundabout before turning right onto Castle Street, we will have a 5 minute stop of check out the castle ruins before heading to Follifoot picking up Pannal Road, we head under the bypass using the underpass onto Rudding Lane, this is a good down hill but has a short harsh climb, unfortunately there is a set of traffic lights at the bottom, we turn left onto Crimple Lane and use the cycle path into the Yorkshire Show Ground and onto our lunch stop at Fodder, it is expensive but worth a treat which we all deserve from time to time.

Leaving the farm shop we will pick up the cycle path which brings us out at Hornbeam, at the traffic lights we turn left onto Hookstone Road, through the lights onto Leadhall Lane and follow until the junction at Yew Tree Lane where we turn left and head down to Burnbridge, through the village turning right onto Brackenthwaite Lane and follow to the crossroads, left onto High Moor Road and tackle Heart Attack Hill, the road has unfortunately degraded over winter so its a bit lumpy, follow to the right round Almscliffe Crag dropping down to the Harrogate Road, across and back through Castley to the start point.

There is an option to use the Harland Way, (2.4 miles shorter) the North Yorkshire end has been newly resurfaced, unfortunately the West Yorkshire section is still a poor surface when it is wet
