stating at the cafe mines a black coffee thanks HAHAHA, we head out over Jackson boat bridge and tao a right along the river, and around Chorlton water park and back not to the river crossing over Princess road and over the M60 we head onto some quite roads for a short time, before heading onto tracks and over the river again heading into Didsbury, following the tram lines for a short time and crossing Kingsway and past Heaton Mersey Golf Club and back onto the river following this for a short time before following the path at the side of the M60, and onto some quite roads and cycle paths till we get to tescos at stockport we then head into IMO the worst bit of the day Reddish Vale Country Park this is not the best of cycling paths and care must be taken coming out of this and onto a dirt track full ofpoyt holes you would be finishing day 2 if you was doing it over 7 days we then head out onto site roads again and a short stint onto stockport road this can be busy we then come off that onto quite roads and paths again and then onto one of the best bits of the day a long dirt path with lots of mile posts on it i think there is 7 in total, and then onto probably the busiest bit of road in the day Mottram Old road this is busy and its a big down hill when we get to the bottom off this we go back of not to quite roads and paths again passing though Broadbottom and onto Charlesworth before heading into gamely (theres a shop hear and would be good is anything was needed like water or snacks, from this we head out on roads and dirt paths to Hadfield this is where i think we would have lunch if its nice as we can sit on the side of the reservoir. after lunch we have a bit of work todo to get round the res and up onto the Longdendale trail with is a lovely path well looked after and runs along the reservoirs past wood head and to the old train station well worth a quick stop to look at the old tunnels and platforms, from this we have a bit of a climb and a road crossing over the Woodhead pass this again is a very fast road and care must be taken, once crossing the road we then have to push bikes up onto the moor and its not possible to cycle up it thats the hard work done all down hill now so following a cycle path along side the A628 Woodhead pass and later crossing it we take the cycle path and the head over the A628 again we are now onto small quite roads following these for some time till we get to Dunford Bridge then we follow cycle paths through Hazlehead and onto Penistone station where we will finish the day
please note you will have to sort out getting back to manchester from the train station
this is a had day in the saddle and not suitable for heavy bikes
