FLAB Social Rides Leicester South West Play Park and Ride - Longer route

Starting at Acorns Cafe, Burbage Common (come earlier and kids can have a play). We'll be doing a safe family afternoon ride using only cycle paths in which are reasonably flat with some roads to cross which will be supervised.

A lot of the route will be on the cycle path along the A47 and the rest on cycle lanes which are shared with pedestrians

We'll be doing two pit stops at two play parks, the first one being Langdale Community Park which has a mini obstacle / stunt cycle track and the second stop is at Swallows Green at the head of Barwell Lane (near Asda's) before heading back to Acorns Cafe at Burbage Common (another play park to finish the ride) for some well deserved drinks and snacks. (Luxury Hot Chocolate is highly recommended). I'm missing out Green Towers this time as no matter what the weather is, its like a wind tunnel but if everyone would rather stop there than Swallows Green please let me know on the day. We could stop at all three but we run the risk of the cafe being shut on our return which means no cake or ice cream!!!!!

All at the time current social distancing rules will apply, including when we stop at the parks for the kids to play.

We will go at a nice easy pace and will ride to the ability of the slowest rider. No one will be left behind.

Please can all under 18s be accompanied by an adult and wear helmets.

(Also have a recovery service for anyone who cant continue the ride)
