Surely we can't be snowed off again! In a break with my usual format, this is a properly hard hilly ride for the more experienced and confident among you who may be heading for the FLAB sportive in May. As always, pace will be set by the people at the back, we'll stop and rest when we need to and no one will get dropped, but please be aware what you are booking yourself on to. It's all on road, a mountain bike will be much harder work.
We'll set off from the Mundy Play Centre car park at Markeaton and head up - and up - through the edge of the Derbyshire Dales, with a short diversion to look at Kedleston Hall, to a café stop at Carsington reservoir, then we'll reverse the route to come back down again.
A good chance to test your legs against some pretty tough hills, enjoy the views along the way, and practice coming back down the hills safely as well. As always, bring a working bike, a working helmet, a working sense of humour, an inner tube and some money for the car park and café stop. Shoes you can walk in might be a bonus ;-)
