Starting from - Meet at the car park at Trent Lock - the public car park on the right hand side is free and has toilets, but there is a HEIGHT BARRIER! The car park on the left has no barrier but is technically for the pub customers.

As it's a little chilly at this time of year to be waiting around, if we can meet for 9.10 ready for a 9.15 departure. NG10 2FY

Lets go for a flat pootle this time - don't be put off by the distance, it's (nearly) all flat on towpaths and the Nutbrook Trail, and it's all off road on well surfaced paths, so will suit all types of bike other than skinny tyred road bikes.

Setting off from the car park at Trent Lock, we'll follow the towpath alongside the Erewash Canal, though a mix of urban and rural landscapes, before splitting from the canal to follow the Nutbrook Trail on up towards Shipley Park, with an intended café stop at the amazing Nutbrook Coffee Shop, before we turn round and head back again.

For anyone wanting to challenge themselves - or planning on riding the FLAB sportive in May - we can have a short diversion at the coffee shop to try our legs with a big hill before refuelling for the journey back.
