Happy New Year everyone - thought we'd start 2018 with a shorter, flatter road ride for those who haven't got out much over Christmas, or are now genetically 50% mince pie.

Starting from Elvaston, a gentle ride round on mainly quieter lanes and tarmac cycle paths, with only a couple of short sections that might be busier. Only one short sharp uphill section but near the café stop/end to motivate you. Usual rules regarding going at the pace of the person at the back, no one gets dropped or left behind. Suitable for any kind of bike but knobbly mountain bike tyres will make it feel harder work.

Bring a working bike, a working helmet, a working sense of humour, and money for a café stop at or near the end of the ride. Dress sensibly for the weather - it's January and the last two rides have been cancelled due to ice, so anything is possible!
