FLAB Social Hampshire Gravel ride in the North of the New Forest starting at Cadman’s Pool

Starting at Cadman’s Pool, we drop down on gravel tracks past Ocknell Pond & under the A31 to pick up the cycle route just to the east of the Canadian Memorial, from there we head South till we cross Bolderwood Ornamental Drive. We then head East looping around Burley Lodge before heading North again up to A31, followed the track running parallel with the A31 till we get to Picket Post, before heading north to Linford & a coffee & cake stop at Red Shoot Inn campsite shop. After that we head North then East back to Cadman’s Pool.

The ride is 25 miles with 1,400 feet of climbing with some steep & possible muddy sections

This route is in the North of the Forest which I find much quieter than the more popular routes around Brockenhurst & Lyndhurst with the added benefit of an ice cream van on the way back to the A31

The route is mostly country lanes & gravel tracks in the New Forest national park. Suitable for gravel & mountain bikes.

A coffee & cake stop at Red Shoot Inn campsite shop

All participants must wear a helmet and bring basic tools for basic repairs such as a puncture. Money needed for cafe stop.
